Microscopic Cog Proof Of Concept

  • SCRIPT

The script for Microscopic Cog is a tight intelligent 1920’s crime drama blending sharp dialogue with a unique 4th wall breaking monologue driven narrative that pulls the audience straight into Joe’s world. The writing flows with a rhythmic tension and raw emotion. Every line is deliberate, as Joe unravels his past to undermine his opponents during a high stakes poker game where the real gamble isn’t money it’s revenge. With its cinematic framing and distinctive voice this is storytelling designed to grip and shock you, and stay with you long after the last page.

  • Proof Of Concept Shoot

It’s a wrap! The proof of Concept Shoot is now in post to produce the 6 minute sample. This is only step one. To finish the full short film the way it’s meant to be told – with the scale, style, and integrity it deserves – I’ll be launching an Indiegogo campaign. The pre-launch page is nearly ready, and when it drops, you will have your opportunity to support it and become part of something amazing

  • Behind The Poker Scene

This behind-the-scenes snapshot shows Steve Dixon (as Joe) and Steve O’Halloran (as Chambers), flanked by supporting artists Fabio Pelliazzari and Andre Stephan, all seated around a poker table in front of a blue screen chatting and waiting for the next take.

  • Composite and Colour Grade

In this scene, the actors were filmed in front of a blue screen, allowing for the seamless integration of a digitally created 1920’s pub interior. The blue screen served us well and has now been replaced in post-production with a traditional pub setting, an actual open fire that evokes a cozy atmosphere.

To enhance the composite, a flickering color grading was applied to mimic the warm, flickering glow of an open fire.
