Drama Coach For Hire
Alongside his work as a filmmaker, writer and artist, Rob Perrett is an experienced drama coach whose services are available on a freelance basis.
Rob has more than a decade of experience in drama education and workshop delivery. This includes four years teaching with a national stage school and five years running his own stage school, the New Youth Theatre Swindon.
From 1998 to 2009, he also worked independently as a freelance drama workshop coach, delivering sessions for a range of groups and organisations. Throughout this period, he provided private drama tuition, working directly with individuals to develop confidence, performance skills, characterisation and creative expression.
Rob was also employed as an Arts and Community Development Officer in North Wiltshire. Drama coaching formed an important part of that role, and he established three youth theatre groups, including a dedicated theatre for young people with learning disabilities. This work combined performance training with confidence-building, communication, inclusion and community participation.
Much of Rob’s earlier teaching experience was with children and young people under the age of seventeen in both mainstream and LD settings. Rob will be happy to deliver workshops to Y11 upwards, at this stage of his career, however, his particular interest is in working with adult performers, whether they are complete beginners, returning to performance after time away, or seeking focused support with acting, character development, confidence or preparation for a specific role.
Freelance coaching may include:
acting and character-development sessions
confidence and communication work
rehearsal support
script and scene exploration
group workshops
Rob’s drama coaching services are available for performers, community groups and creative organisations.
